About
The gentle approach to Greenoaks, along a quiet country lane, sets the tone for your stay. The drive, surrounded by tranquil woodland, leads you through gates, beyond which you emerge into a peaceful clearing with ponies grazing. Here, you'll find the terrace-wrapped home nestled amongst the greenery.
Enter through the front door, into the hall, and you'll be met with double doors, revealing the impressive, double-height, open-plan living area, bringing together the beautifully styled sitting room, dining area and kitchen, in a cohesive and elegant manner.
Greenoaks warmly welcomes eight adults, two children and two four-legged friends. On the ground floor there are three en-suite bedrooms in calming hues, two of which include a handy, tucked-away trundle bed, perfect for little ones. The opulent super-king master bedroom is in a league of its own. Found on a separate floor and offering stunning views, it boasts a walk-in shower, two separate wash stands, and a large double-ended bath, ideal for a leisurely wallow after a long country walk.
The property is practical as well as stylish, with a Sonos music system throughout, a high-spec kitchen, a boot room (just what you need for muddy wellies!), and separate laundry.
During the long summer days, the living area's vast windows and bi-fold doors bring the outside in, encouraging lazy lunches with blissful views of the meadow and trees beyond. You may even spot a deer visiting the paddock! This clever property is equally suited to the colder months, with a mix of cow hides, a huge open fire, oak-beamed ceilings, and the warm glow of the wall lights giving a cosy, almost chalet-like feel.
For those members of the group needing a little more entertainment, the snug mezzanine, overlooking the open-plan living area, is well-suited for a film or Xbox marathon! You'll also find a great selection of board games, and for activities in the fresh air, there's a badminton net and rackets, or you can make the most of the outside space with a game of football.
Greenoaks really is equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The owner generously provides unlimited logs for the open fire, as well as coal for the barbecue, inviting you to spend laid-back, foodie evenings outside on the sweeping terrace, enjoying a summer evening's birdsong, before stargazing in the hot tub as night falls.
Beyond what the house offers, Cowdray Estate is within easy reach, and hosts an array of activities, such as polo, golf and fly fishing, alongside foraging and wildlife tours. And, with the South Downs less than a mile's walk away, whatever your preferred pastime, Greenoaks is a British countryside haven not to be missed
