About
Camber, located east of the ancient town of Rye, has over 2 miles of beach, and much of it is golden sands! It is home to the only sand dune system in East Sussex, which provides a valuable natural habitat to many animals and plants. The beach gets very busy during peak seasons and parking can be limited during these times.
Camber Sands has a beautiful white sandy beach with rolling dunes and long, unspoiled views from Rye Harbour to Hastings Country Park. You might even see a seal in the estuary.
The dunes are home to over 250 species of plants and animals. You can spot marram grass, sea buckthorn with bright orange berries, and sea rocket flowers. Lizards, butterflies, and moths live here, and skylarks fly overhead.
