About
Cement is a creative space based in Newhaven, East Sussex, offering dynamic art workshops taught in working artists’ studios for people at all stages of their creative journey. Founded by artists Julian Wild and Alison Hand, Cement provides a platform for both emerging and established artists to develop their practice through workshop courses, open access and mentoring led by experienced practitioners and educators.
With a strong focus on sculpture, painting, and material experimentation, their programmes are hands-on and critically engaged—connecting contemporary practice with technical skill. Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore your creativity or a professional artist seeking to refine your approach, Cement offers a supportive and stimulating space to grow.
Cement offers a range of art workshop and experiences for adults along with open access supported sessions in our painting and sculpture studios. Our small groups result in great peer interaction and bespoke, directed teaching. This all takes place at their own working studio spaces.
