About
Visit the rural home of renowned American photojournalist Lee Miller and British Surrealist Roland Penrose. After moving to Farleys in 1949, they transformed this tired farmhouse to a colourful home for the avant-garde. Farleys served as a meeting place for collaboration and creativity; hosting the most influential and important artistic luminaries of the 20th Century, including Pablo Picasso, Dorothea Tanning, Man Ray, Françoise Gilot and Henry Moore.
Works by these remarkable artists still hang in the house today; visitors can enjoy a tour of the ground floor. Led by an expert guide; visitors can experience the house as it was in Lee and Roland's day.
Visits also include access to two gallery spaces to see exhibitions both contempoary and from the Lee Miller Archives, as well as the opportunity to explore the Farleys Sculpture Garden, set against the Sussex Downs.
Throughout the year, Farleys hosts an exciting calendar of events and workshops.
