About
Mewsbrook Park is a charming park located in Littlehampton. Just a short stroll from the seafront, the park is easily accessible via Hendon Avenue and sits adjacent to the Littlehampton Wave leisure centre, making it a convenient and scenic destination. Mewsbrook Park spans approximately ten acres and is renowned for its beautifully maintained gardens, including vibrant shrubbery, long herbaceous borders, and dedicated bee and butterfly gardens that provide colour and ecological interest throughout the year. There is a lage childrens play park at the top end, and a footpath surrounds the oicturesque boating lake, popular for pedal boat hire. The lake, with its central island, provides a tranquil habitat for local wildlife, including swans and ducks.
For those looking to relax, the park features a welcoming café that serves refreshments and light meals in a peaceful setting. Scattered throughout the grounds are original 1930s art deco shelters, which lend a touch of historical elegance to the landscape. Another highlight is Ruby Gardens, a conservation-focused woodland area named in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s Ruby Jubilee.
Mewsbrook Park has consistently earned the prestigious Green Flag Award, a mark of excellence for well-managed parks and green spaces.
The park is also home of one of the stations for the historic Littlehampton Miniature Railway, one of the oldest in the UK. This charming railway connects Mewsbrook Park to Norfolk Gardens, offering a scenic and nostalgic ride for visitors of all ages.
