About
South Farm is a family-run working dairy and arable farm in the heart of the South Downs — and every summer, seven acres of it become one of East Sussex's best family days out.
The maize maze at South Farm isn't a theme park attraction. It's grown from seed each spring by Ben and Emma, the mother-and-son team behind the farm, and by July it towers well over head height. Each year's maze has a brand-new design, and every visitor gets a game card with hidden boards and challenges scattered throughout — so there's a reason to explore every corner, not just race for the exit.
When you've found your way out (or given up gracefully), the farm's natural vantage point offers sweeping views across the maze and the South Downs — worth the trip on its own. Light refreshments, including good coffee, are available on site.
Just outside Lewes and an easy drive from Brighton, it's a proper countryside day out for families with kids of all ages — and a portion of profits goes to the East Sussex Farmers' Benevolent Fund.
