About
Our Grade II listed windmill was built in 1817 and has a wealth of original artifacts in our museum area used by the last miller. This early brick-built tower windmill was recently added to the national Heritage at Risk Register. Known variously as Polegate, Willingdon, Ovenden's, Mockett's, Brinkhurst or Park Croft Windmill over the years due to changes of ownership and district boundaries. The mill is looked after by a group of tenacious volunteers but is in desperate need of funding for the major repair works needed to save it for future generations.
We welcome visitors and have plenty of things to keep the children occupied and provide tea and home made cakes for donations towards our renovations.
